I first came into contact with Steven N. Meyers work at my doctors office. One of the girls that works the front desk knows me very well. When I expressed my love for the calendar hanging behind her, and how I had never seen such work, she gave me the calendar. I looked at the calendar today and thought hey that would be perfect for my artist of the day.

Steven N M is a photographer and radiologist. He has been imaging human subjects in a medical setting for more then 25 years. He utilizes his expertise in radiological techniques to capture flowers and botanicals in invisible light. The fine art of X-ray photography allows the artist to reveal the textures, details, and structures of plants which are not normally visible to the human eye. To obtain these effects he uses super-sensitive, large format film. One of the only a few radiographic photographers practicing he helps to keep the art alive by continuing to expand his body of work.
